Anthony: The friends I met along the way. I didn’t think I would create friendships that span over the course of years. I really liked learning how to punch and kick and break boards. I didn’t realize that as I was learning, I was also building relationships, some that have spanned years so far and who knows may even span a lifetime. As much as I enjoy the art, I also enjoy meeting new people, training with them, and growing in the martial arts with them.
Ana: The most surprising thing for me was the benefits I got outside the studio. I became less clumsy, acquired better reflexes, and overall became a more organized person!
Raechel: The thing that has surprised me the most is how much the martial arts have affected every aspect of my life in some way. I never realized when I started that this is so much more than a sport or a hobby. It has become a mindset and a lifestyle.
Yoshi: The most surprising thing for me is that I’m still on this journey. When I first started I never thought it would become a lifelong commitment.
David: The most surprising thing for me is all of the international connections and friends I have made that share the same love and passion for martial arts. Martial Arts are truly without borders.
