I started my martial arts training in 2009 as an early teen; after my mom mentioned once knowing a black belt who had to have their hands registered as legal weapons, I was hooked on the idea of martial arts. My thought process immediately went to, “if I could turn my body into a weapon, I’d basically be a superhero”, so I was all in. What started as a pastime activity, stumbling across Tang Soo Do by chance, slowly began to shape my life; I was noticing the immense benefits training was having both inside the dojang and out. Ever since then, I’ve made martial arts a large priority in my life; currently I am still training and teaching nearly every day.
After earning my first black belt in 2012, I also began to study a couple other martial arts. In 2014, I began to train in the Filipino martial arts system of Kali-Escrima, and in 2016 I began training in Hapkido. Finally, my new adventure in 2020 has been to begin stunt actor training, in hopes someday to be an international stunt double.
My life outside of martial arts is not very extensive, however, I did earn my BS in General Mathematics in 2018. I’m part of the small population of people who enjoy calculations and math in general, therefore it seemed like fate to become a math major. I’m also an avid music lover; my first passion was playing guitar, including joining a handful of bands growing up. When I’m not training or working, I’m making music or hanging out with my dog.
